I learned about the glycemic index today. Basically, I checked my blood sugar last night because I didn’t feel quite right. It was 233. Normally I have been running 88 to 134 so I called my doctor, Dr. Herl here in Manhattan.
I have been eating a lot of potatoes, mashed and bake. They have been my main staple. Today I found out they have a fast absorption of the sugars into the blood which is the reason it was spiking.
I am back to the 135 level and hope to go lower. Live and learn.
